Dr Negin Hesam-Shariati

Dr Negin Hesam-Shariati is the head of the Chronic Pain Neurotherapy Program at the NeuroRecovery Research Hub, University of New South Wales (UNSW) and a research fellow in the Centre for Pain IMPACT at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA).

Biography

Negin's research focuses on developing and evaluating PainWaive, a home-based EEG neurofeedback intervention for chronic pain. Supported by a postdoctoral fellowship from the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation, she has led the development and testing of neurofeedback approaches targeting neuropathic pain following spinal cord injury. Negin leads a multidisciplinary team, designing the PainWaive hardware and software platform and is involved in multiple clinical trials investigating technology-driven pain interventions. She is also a Chief Investigator on several MRFF- and NHMRC-funded grants focused on chronic pain management.
